Following renewed hostilities between the principal parties to the 2018 peace deal and growing fears over the spectre of a third civil war in just 12 years against the backdrop of the US Administration's Executive Order on the USAID and the resulting termination of funding for key interventions in the country, South Sudan is currently on the brink of famine with about 6.5 million people at risk of starvation and disease outbreaks.
CMD, a premier multi-sectoral national relief and development agency, is appealing for $5 million to rush in critical lifesaving assistance to an affected population of 600,000 men, women, children and youth in 100,000 most vulnerable households in Upper Nile and Jonglei States.
Once secured, this appeal will ensure a rapid response package to alleviate suffering through integrated, needs-based life-saving nutrition, health, and WASH services to the most affected and disadvantaged communities in remote parts of South Sudan, while laying a firm foundation for resilience and systems strengthening for a robust service structure, stability, and continuity. You are their beacon of hope. Donate Now! and spread the message!
